how much are his knives? I see them offered here at less than $100, and everyone seems to say they cost less than a C note, but over at his site - they begin at $125.

If they are I'd like a 4 inch D2 with a finger groove in African Blackwood if I can get em at $100 or so....

I hear they are excellent aggresive scary sharp cutters????

Actually, if you check a little more closely (click on "Click Here For 8 More Knives"), you will find that his D2 knives do start at $100.00.

I've carried one of his O-1 #5 drop point hunters as an EDC for almost 2 years now. His prices have gone up, but I believe they are a solid value. It is the sharpest knife I own.

I have a couple of Gene's knives. The first one was posted in a Maker's Forum, and I guess I was in the right place at the right time. It was a Christmas present for my son. I was interested in another one that he had on Ebay, but missed out on it. However, when Gene had another of the same style ready to go, he contacted me to see if I was still interested, and I was. Great guy to deal with IMO.

They are a steal at the prices Gene sells them at.The D2 hunter that he made for me cuts like a lazer.:)

His D2 knives start at $100, but what if you order a particular knife in 01? I ordered a knife last fall for my Father-In-Law for Xmas in O1 and it came in under $100 (about $90 IIRC). That same knife in D2 is just over $100 now.

Not that it really matters. His knives are fantastic deals. The one I ordered for my FIL was the first one I'd handled in person. It makes you wonder how some makers get twice what he asks for a similar knife. He's also a very nice man to deal with.

I placed an order a little while back for one. Should be ready in a month or so. I am confident that I'll be pleased. His prices are some of the lowest out there and the quality appears to be good.

how do I contact Gene? what is his most used email? also, would Gene consider slight variations to his designs?

thanks - I hope to get one soon,
Spyken

Keith is pretty much correct. My D2 knives start at $100 and go to $150. My steel options are 154CM, 440C, and 01. 01 is $10 to $15 less. I take orders for the knives listed on the site and some custom work. The lead time stays between 3 and 4 months, and I always meet my commit dates. I leave time between orders to make a few extras that are listed on the Fixed Forum. My prices have increased since I started my site, but when I increased prices I added Insured Shipping and a Cryogenic quench as a part of that total cost. The Email address listed on the profile is current. I recently changed my user name from Geno to Gene Ingram. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Thanks for the interest in my knives, and Thanks to all for the positive feedback.
