After a long wait I had my two customs arrive this week. Well worth the wait, what a fantastic maker that will be missed in the hunting/fishing community.

I will probably be one of the last people to get a custom knife from Gene since he is now retired and not taking new orders.

Waited two years and sent him a nice set of ironwood burl scales to use.

Nice score. I've been a fan of Gene's knives for a long time. He has some of the nicest ironwood handles out there.

He was the first maker I placed an order with, I have handled dozens of makers the last two years, so it was fullfilling to have these arrive. I am drawn to the simplicity and clean look and feel of these.
