I have an order in with Gene for one of his front pocket models :D So as I wait for my order to hit, I figured I check the forums and see if I could find a thread dedicated to his knives. (And obsessively look at Wiseman knives, until I actually have one in hand - you know the feeling!!)

Well, I couldn't find a thread dedicated to his knives! Any Gene Wiseman fans?????

Please share and post some pics of Gene's knives for me, thanks

I've got mine in my pocket today as a matter of fact...love it!
I shot a quick pic with a No. 7 Opi for size comparison.

YAYE, thanks for posting  Looks great. The 7 is one of my favorite Opinels so it's nice to see it in comparison to a Wiseman.. Now I'm even more excited :D

That's one of his sodbuster models, correct?

Yes, indeed, I call it my 'small sodbuster', I picked it up here on the Exchange; and my GEC Bullnose is my 'large'...the D2 on the Wiseman is great, as it's one of my favorite steels, micarta scales take a lickin' etc.
Cheers, and here's to a patient wait that pays off in the end!

Here are a couple of mine. The saddlehorn on the bottom is etched D2 by Gene.

My only one from Gene. An Ultralight Front Pocket with Jade/Ghost Green G10. This one is in 1095 and sports a drawn swedge.

D2 Barlow @ 3 3/8". Love those Front Pocket patterns, may have to get one : )

Thank you for the heads up Fausto:thumbup: I found the knife you mentioned, but it's just a hair large for my pocket :( If it were 3 3/8 - 3 1/2 I would have snapped it up!

Cheers!

A bit too big for me as well.
I assume Gene Wiseman has a standard size for his front pocket and back pocket model.
Anyway, you're welcome :)

I have two of Gene's knives, both bought from folks here. I love both so much I can see me having them for the rest of my life along with the ones I had done by Jerry Barlow when he was a still working. I love the one in D2, a little split back whittler Jerry did that Gene provided steel and heat treat for. Its the best one of all the lot of the whittlers I have from Jerry or anyone. I note it cuts better and performs better than the one Jerry did on his own for me later also. But it does just fine too.

I wish I could find the original pics of the classy little baby Barlow I have by Gene. Its the only Barlow I've ever really just had to own in a custom and the funny thing is on both these knives,I do have by Gene, the other also being a first and unique in a sow belly three blade which was his first multi blade as I recall. I knew from the moment I saw both that they were mine even tho when I saw them they actually belonged to someone else and were not for sale! It was a funny thing cause I could already see those in my hands. I knew they were coming to me and sure enough they fell right into my possession just as if I was a magnet drawing in both! Its the funny strangest knife story I've had to date actually. It was really quite mystical how both came to me and from two different people unrelated and at different times. Almost like they just had my name on them.

Anyway, there are better pics of these on the forums somewhere but I cannot pull them due to my main computer being crashed so these are all I have to show the one only.
