I read the rules, I looked at the subscriptions, and i did about an hour of digging on this before posting.

If I wanted to post about my sharpening service in some way on the forums, would that be against the rules? Would you need to have a paid subscription to do so?
I would think i would, seeing as Im selling a service, but not specifically a knife or sheath as listed in the makers forums.

Whaddyall think, and moderators please chime in.

I think it wouod be necessary to have a premium membership, I would classify sharpening under knife making services. All services and advertisements by users must be done with a premium membership, except for trades but you can't trade sharpening really.

You can talk all you want to about it, as long as you are not trying to in any way acquire customers. Plenty of amateur knifemakers participate without paid memberships.

But if you are planning on using Spark's paid-for web servers as a way to make money, then you have to pay for the privilege.

You need an orange account for that.

The "Rules for Selling, Trading & Advertising on BladeForums.com" are easily accessible from the FAQ link at the top of the page.

And the link to Tech Support, General Q&A, Site Feedback & More, is right on the BladeForums home page.

That said, welcome and you will need a Service Provider membership to promote your services.

Moving to Tech Support.

You would need a KnifeMaker / Craftsman / Service Provider Membership.
