General leather work primer???

Can anyone suggest a good general-purpose primer for leather work. . .something that will help me with the basics, but that will also get into some of the more decorative stuff like tooling (like what is seen on saddles, sheaths, holsters, belts, etc.).

Is there a Tandy Leather Factory store in your area? They have several good books that have the very info you seek.
Try Google as well, you can order off their web site.

Any books by Al Stohlman concerning your leather interests (tooling, bags, sheaths, etc).
