General opinions on this axe?

I've considered getting this axe for belt carry. Apparently it can be thrown, but that wouldn't be its primary purpose, obviously. I'd like opinions of anyone willing to give them. Does anyone have this axe or have used it? I really like the shape of the head and think it would be good for clearing brush and whatnot, and even CQB if need be.

There has been some discussion of the shorter firestone belt axe in the past in the forum.

Saw him throwing this one at The world knifethrowing competition a few years back. Really is meant for throwing and could be used for self defense. IMO not much on the practical side for every day axe stuff.

I had one...it was pretty neat, but I loosened the handle in ten minutes. The bolt in the back doesn't solve the problem...just kind of prolongs the inevitable.

It's cast, so if that doesn't bother you, and it doesn't bother some, including me, it's a fun piece. It does look totally cool. The raised leading edge (above the top of the handle) does make it easier to stick than many other Hawks...that feature increases what we call "sticking radius"...almost all our Hawks have that feature by design.
