I know it's a no-no to store your non-stainless blades in their sheaths.

My question here is...if I were to wrap the (carbon) blade in a Tuf-Cloth & then store it in the sheath,do you think it would hinder the corrosion process?

Thanks in advance for your helpfull feedback.:)

Sometimes enclosing a cloth can trap moisture and hold it against the metal and form rust. I've seen it cause it on stainless steel even, wrapped in a silicone impregnated cloth.
I never wrap anything metal up for storage now. Wipe it down good with the corrosion resistant cloth and leave it so air can circulate is what I've had good results with. Of course inspecting and re-wiping it every 60 days or so is a good idea.

Jill,I understand your logic. The Sentry Tuf-Cloth is a dry lubricant though. Not a silicone cloth.I guess I'm also worried about what the chemicals would do to the sheath(leather) as well as the knife.
Has anyone tried this before?

Haven't tried it, and wouldn't. Even if the lubricant is dry if the knife was somehow exposed to moisture the cloth may still hinder the drying.

Also, you raise a valid concern about what the lubricant may / may not do to the sheath. I wouldn't take the chance.

I would play it safe and store the knife out of the sheath. Time proven to work well.

Thanks for the replies everyone.I was just wondering since the TUF-Cloth is a dry lube.

I'll just stick with what I've been doing.Storing out of the sheath w/ a light coating of oil.
