So, after the video "review" that was posted here, I got to thinking about the sheath on my bk2.

I have read various comments about a 2nd gen sheath. How would I know if I have one? So, I appeal to you, the beckerhead collective consciousness. :)

Thanks!

Yeah, I think you have the 2nd generation sheath. Mine doesn't have the jimped thumb break on it, and the belt loop is riveted to the sheath body, not screwed on. Of course, I have a 1st generation BK-2, sans pommel extension, so it has to have the 1st generation sheath. Are there more than two versions?

Sooo....am I correct in ASSuming that this is the redesign that won't dull the blade?

either way, I'm buying one from bg leatherworks. Just wondering. Might help someone in the future.

I use my thumb to eject the BK-2 from the sheath. I've never had trouble with the blade dulling(and I'm not the only one apparently). I think alot of that has to do with technique. But thats just my opinion. What do I know. I don't mind the sheath. It fits snug on my pack and does'nt dull the blade. I did however just purchase a kydex taco sheath from Thrillbilly. It will be nice when I've got the knife out for extended amounts of time, but I'm gonna keep the stock sheath on my pack.
