I spotted this NYK Rope knife, posted by a member here, and was smitten! I have a small collection of Navy knives, and love the design of the blade. I don't know what it is about purpose-built knives, but they often get my interest.

It is of course the ebony-handled knife under the peanuts!

I (somewhat rudely I suppose - I'm old, and don't let that stop me!) emailed to ask if said member would sell or trade the knife!

Jesse asked if I had a nice TL-29. I did and a deal was made!

I expected the two little Case knives, both great quintessential Peanuts, along with the NYK. But I got much more than I bargained for!!!!!

A nice CSC collection; all knives I have been interested in, but haven't gotten around to procuring! I had to check to see if an error had been made, and after stringing me along for a bit, Jesse admitted they were gifts!
Thanks Jesse!! Very generous indeed!!

What a class act by Jesse and beautiful knives to add to your stable Charlie~ The NYK is a looker with that abrupt slant to the front end of the blade.

Hey, those were my knives........before I sold them to Jesse.:D Careful with that NYK rope knife, I sharpened it and cut myself taking a photo of it.

Beautiful knives, Charlie. Good show, Jesse! That Coke bottle jack is really sharp.

That's great stuff right there, good going Jesse!

Beautiful knives, too!

Congrats, Charlie! :thumbup::thumbup:
That's quite a pile of splendid knives; you got a lot of "bang" for your TL-29!! ;)
Kudos on your generosity, Jesse; very cool!:cool:

Beautiful knives and great to see them go where they will me well loved! Good on you, Jesse!! The second peanut down is a wondrous red...wow! Super, Charlie:D

I thought I recognised those two peanuts- my finger over them when they were up I can tell you!!!

Great generosity Jesse. Those additions to the trade is simply fantastic. A strong vein of respect and generosity flows well with this traditional group!!

That was a pretty nice gift box Charlie. Nicely done shenanigans !:thumbup::D

Great generosity, great gifts, great new caretaker...what's not to like? Congratulations all around.

Lovely act of generosity :) Congratulations Charlie, I also love the look of those old square cut blades

Life would be easier if all humans were made of the same wood as you both Jesse and Charlie !

This is another example of the quality caring folks that hang out here in the traditional forums. I collect modern folders as well as traditional knives and post in the general knife discussion however it is common there for people to be rude to each other and some post get so heated it makes me laugh. Here stories like this are not uncommon and that says a lot as to the character of you guys and gals. Thank you for allowing me to participate.

It is the least I can do for a guy such as Charlie. I am loving the GEC electricians knife and I know Charlie really wanted the rope knife. How I could I refuse? I didn't even get to fondle it as I am out of town on work. My wife assisted in boxing up the peanuts and rope knife. She asked if I wanted anything else in the box because she knows I often throw in my favorite candy or treat and we both agreed Charlie would love him some CSC as much as I do. I love this place and how everything works out!

Also, thanks to Mark for quick shipment. In a way you helped me obtain a knife I have been eyeballing for quite some time. Thanks!

If we trade again, I am going to specify that your better half do the packing, Jesse!! Heh, heh!!
Can't wait to see a pic of the electrician's knife - unless you trade it off, sight unseen!! Haw, haw!!
