Hi
Just received my 5th knife from GenO, A Model #6, 41/2" Drop point, 3/16" ATS-34 blade, Beautiful stag handle. I don't know who of you all out there who know GenO, or his work. He is a great craftsman and great man to do business with. Very honest. He is a great credit to the custom knife making Industry and mankind all around. Business practices of this type are hard to come by. If you are looking for very good knives at good prices check out GenO. He will do you right. Al

I agree with you, Al. I've got two of his knives already (with more on order!) and he is an outstanding maker who turns out unbelieveable knives for the prices he charges. Plus, he's a great guy to deal with too. If you ever see him you can see why they don't call him the Caveman for nothing

My stag Model B was the first "upscale" custom fixed blade I bought and it's a beautiful cutting tool. For the price of a high end production knife you can buy a custom fixed blade from this man.

For those of you going to the Timonium show this weekend - I talked with GenO last night and he says he has a bunch of knives going to Les Robertson for the show. Check them out if you can, they are definitely worth a close inspection.

Yup, GenO's the man. I own several Denning creations, each one outstanding. There's not a better knife for the money anywhere. Check out his stuff at:

GenO and his wife have even opened up their home to me on occassion. As if that weren't enough, he's even showing me the knifemaking ropes (which I guess just shows he ain't so smart after all.

I bought two of GenO's knives from Les in Timonium last year. I was going to get One for myself. Then I rationalized buying Two as xmas gifts for my knife knut brothers (the knives were an amazing value).

I still have the knives...and my brothers, but somehow, I feel very guilty

I hope to join in singing his praises tomorrow when my new Black Widow should be arriving.

I'll chime in also. The first handmade knife I bought was a Denning #6 in stag. I bought it because of the praise GenO got from Kelly and Para. I bought it from Les before I even saw a picture of it, it's a great knife at a great price. I'd like the chance to meet GenO at the Blade Show in June, and I'd sure like one of his Chute knives.

Geno is indeed a fine gentleman and a great craftsman. I have four of his knives, and each is truly without fault. Believe the glowing reviews, they are true

OK, I'm a believer. My Black Widow showed up today & it is just as nice as I had hoped. Have a look...

His work is every bit as meticulous as folks have been saying. I'm sure this is just my first Denning.

Thanks for your kind words of praise one and all. I kinda hate to tell you the truth but you know I have never made a single knife that I have been really happy with I see mistakes and things I dont like in everyone of them. I guess that just makes me look forward to trying to do better on the next one. I guess I was doomed when I made the first one. Even my mentor says I am to picky, but he knows thats the way I am and puts up with me in spite of myself. I guess I am one of those people who keeps trying to build one perfect knife, knowing the whole time it cant be done, at least by me, but I cant stop now looks like this 'addiction to steel' has me too. Thanks for all of the forumites participation in a craft I truly love. Still looking for that perfect knife!!!!! GenO

I must have missed them, or gotten there too late. When I made it by Les' table (just before noon), there were only two there. One was (I think) a Model B in stag, and the other looked like maybe a Big Boy (or whatever that one is called, can't remember), again in stag (IIRC). I guess the Dennings were really selling fast!

GenO has added another dimension to his work.
Hw had some lockback folding knives at the SC show on Saturday and the work is outstanding! Looking down the spine of the knife, one cannot even see the line between the rocker and the blade. The same is true for the rocker and the liners. He only had one for sale, and it was scarfed up within a few seconds of hitting the table. He was kind enough to show me some that had already been spoken for. I am on the waiting list. anyone who wants Walker and Lake-like quality at a reasonable price should jump on this bandwagon with both feet!

Here's a picture of the stainless steel interframe folders that he's now making. The ones pictured are in various states of construction. They have box elder, giraffe bone, and elephant ivory inlays. The frames are made of 303 stainless steel.

GenO also made three prototype folders with black micarta frames. I'm fortunate to have one of them with desert ironwood inlays.

He's also beginning to use some different steels, including D2 and some CPM steels.
