I'm on the hunt for a gentleman's knife, or at least something slim and classy. Prefer to keep it under about $200, and want wood scales and a pocket clip. I miss my Mnandi, but sold it and reallocated the funds. The closest I've found to what I want is an Urban Trapper, but I'd love to find something with a little more character that still meets my other reqs. Thoughts?

You could always have someone make you wood scales for something you already have. Larger than you are thinking, but here's an example of what I had done to my Manix 2. Desert Ironwood.

Hmm, what counts as a gentleman's knife seems to vary wildly from person to person.

Here is a random sampling of things to look at if you haven't checked them out already:

EnZO Birk 75 in curly birch
Boker Kansei Matsuno LRF
Boker Kansei Matsuno Wasabi
Boker Serge Panchenko Lancer
Boker Exskelibur series

Maserin and Mcusta make a bunch of wood handled knives, though which ones have pocket clips I don't know.

MD Gent Select $120
Pakkawood Delica $156
TRM Nerd $179 (tekwood)
Various Civivi models are available with wood scales and WE-mascus for around $90
BM Mini Crooked River is just over $200

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, lots of good options so far, but nothing that I'm quite ready to pull the trigger on just yet. I've actually tried a few of these as they've fit my requirements on paper, they just didn't do it for me. The main issue with many of them is that they're wider than I'd like when closed. I had a lovely Delica (below), for example, that was just too bulky, even though it was thin. The Shinola Valet I use to own was also very close, just didn't love the orange backspacer, or the 3/4 size axis lock. Thanks again and keep it coming.

I think you would really like the Gent Select.

My tip-up "gentleman's carry" is the regular Massdrop Gent with G-10 scales. I like it but I'm not fancy. Their Gent Select with rosewood scales is beautiful. I'd have considered it but I got my regular Gent during a Black Friday sale and it literally cost half as much.

The Civivi Elementum is in the same ballpark but a step down in steel. I saw that BladeHQ finally got them back in stock a few days ago but that ship already sailed.

My tip-down gentleman's carry is the M390 Dividend. I actually hate aluminum scales but with Kershaw's deep-carry clip installed, it has been hard to beat for shirt, breast, and vest pocket carry.

I found the Epicurien at a couple sites but they aren't sponsors so no links. However, I can share Mr. Schmalhaus' video.

I always picture a 'gentlemans' knife having pearl, ivory, or white scales.
Dunno why.

A similar option would be the French company Le Thiers. Their knives have nice lines, and a selection of woods, with or without bolsters. The possible deal-breaker is that I don't know if any of them come with a pocket clip.
