Gentleman Jim question

Hi everyone,

I was pleasantly surprised when I got an early Christmas bonus so it is going towards buying another Emerson!

Now, I really love the Gentleman Jim and I wanted to find out if it was a limited edition or a production knife. I have done some research and I have read lots of stuff saying its a 100 only run to its going to be a production model in a few months. It is jsut confusing since I do not know if it is a limited edition only from Prestige dealers or a production knife only from Prestige dealers.

I have asked on YouTube videos and emailed Emerson but I have not been able to get a clear answer.

I have enough cash to get a Gentleman Jim (with a bit left over) or both a Stonewashed Horseman and CQC7, which I honestly love but can always hunt down later since they are production knives. If the GJ is a LE, then I may as well jump on it now

Thanks so much for the help

Tony

I don't know either if the Gentleman Jim is a limited production model or not,
but I can for sure confirm two things:
1) it's a great looking knife seen in person
2) it's NOT a model limited to 100 pieces, as I personally own #138...

Ah nevermind, I heard back from the folks at Emerson that they are doing another run of the GJ in 12-16 weeks, so it should be fine to get one later :) And the first one was made in 'very limited' quantities so it looks like it is gonna be a production knife at 'very limited quantities' each run for the prestige dealers.

This is the game they are playing. --Restricting new knives to some BS 'prestige' dealer so they can control the pricing. Notice the difference in price between the prestige dealers and EKI website.- 10%.

Notice the price difference between EKI and regular dealers on old knives- 40%!

I shouldn't be complaining about MSRP, I couldn't find the Combat Karambit anywhere so I just gave up and ordered it from Emerson's website. 257.00 ouch! Didn't even get the finish I wanted (Stonewash or Satin) but its cool, I'll hold on to it until I can find a satin or SW one and buy that. But after seeing the difference in prices between Emerson and other dealers, I probably wouldn't buy direct from them ever again.

Indeed. 167$ shipped for my CQC-11 versus 257.95 on Emerson's site.

Even if you couldn't find a new Emerson model in stock, you could hold out for one on the exchange here and get it for less. Karambits show up here time to time, they're not super rare.

Emerson said they are moving into a much large facility so hopefully they'll be able to crank the knives out faster. It's ridiculous right now how difficult it is to just buy a damn knife.

If you want a Gentleman Jim right now, the "Prestige" dealer I purchased mine from still had some. Mine is #149. Plus his price was very competitive. I tried sending you a PM but for some reason can't.
