Just finished this Gentleman Skinner kit from Texas Knifemaker Supply and tried my hand at making a Kydex sheath for the first time.
My goal with the sheath was to make something that could clip onto a pocket, a belt, or the outside pocket of my office satchel. I wanted it to be a low carry setup where when the knife is clipped to my satchel, all that can be seen from the outside is the belt clip. I also wanted to try a one-piece sheath. I think it turned out really, really well. There is no play whatsoever and the flared release works just fine. The knife slips in relatively smoothly and comes out with just a little pressure on the flare with the second knuckle of my index finger.
I'm also really happy with the knife. 2 1/2" 440C blade with black linen micarta scales. It was something of a learning project for me, since it was the first time I've ever pinned a bolster (or pinned anything other than micarta scales, for that matter).
I really need to build a light box . . but if you can suffer through the bad lighting, take a look at the following:
