Hello friends,
I recently received this wonderful knife from a friend. When Yangdu posted them, I was really enamored with the design, but decided not to spend the $. Imagine my surprise when it showed up in the mail! What a wonderful place this is, with wonderful folks. Thank you!
Just wanted to share it with you all. 10 minutes of polishing and sharpening made an heirloom from an already wonderful knife. What a sweet knife! 10 1/4" overall length with a very sturdy and pretty sheath.

Nice pictures, thank you Steve

I bought two smaller horn handled knives last year (BDC and UBE) both about 12". I normally prefer the bigger knives, so these sat unused. However I recently decided to test them on our camping trip this week, cooking, doing camp chores, even lightly chopping some wood. I even used them to stir and cut the meat in hot grease in our cast iron pan while on the fire. Yes there was some discoloration and small rust over a couple of days of use. But I was amazed at how well these smaller knives perform. Very tough and amazingly good at cutting, despite the thick spine. Back home, they cleaned off and resharpened easily. And like all HI knives of any size, the more you use them the better they seem to get. I think I will add more smaller sized HI knives into my growing collection.

I have a regular 12" AK that I bought from Uncle Bill.
It's a great workhorse of a knife, and I like to take it motorcycle camping because it takes up less space in the saddlebags. It will do most camp jobs with ease. If I could, I would jump on one of these new small models, but unfortunately I am out of work right now.
Sometimes....smaller is better. :o

That sure is beautiful:)
It sure found the right Gentleman.

You sure purty'd her up, Steve.

:D
