I have seen a lot of examples and threads on gentleman's folders.
Common definition seems to be something relatively small with features like brushed metal bolsters and inlays and an uncomplicated blade shape. In my mind its almost the opposite of what is considered "tactical" these days.

Are there fixed blade equivalents? Is there such a thing as a Gentleman's Fixed Blade? Examples?

I've seen several "fancy", high-quality fixed-blades. Engraving, file-work, inlays, precious metals, exotic handle materials, etc. Of course they were all custom knives.

I've also seen some small production fixed-blades with white micarta handles, and some with abalone handles, definitely not what one would call "tactical". I forget the brands though.

Boker has a lot of knives that fall into that catagory. One is called a Gent's Scalpel. I have it and it completely fits the bill.

Yup that pretty much fits the bill. Also some of Bob Dozier's work would appear to fit too.
Would Boker's production of Tom Krein's Pocket Bowie count?

Check out my web site for custom gentleman's fixed blades. www.cowlesknives.com.
Thank you sir. I am finding myself gravitating quite inexorably towards the small fixed blade for EDC.
About your knives; allow me to say OMbloodyG! For a moment my reaction almost justified the term "knife porn". I suppose there is a reason you call that beauty the "mistess" :D And I never thought a precious stone on a knife could enhance its appeal so much.
Sadly they are well outside my current financial capability :) I am grateful, however to have seen them.

Here's a nice gent's fixed carry by Josh Smith. I wish I had a really good picture.

Moki Banff series-
Moki Trout and Bird- (Comes in two handle options)

Adding the Moki and their bird and trout knife to list NOW! :D

Now those are my definition of a gentleman's fixed blade. They are very nice but not so over the top that you couldn't EDC one.
Oh yes. But if I was carrying them I'd be showing them off a lot. Plus knives like that are also ambassadors for us knife people to the sheeple.........

Here are a few I carry when dressed up:

First this little minimalist Lovett:

Patrick Sheehan made this little "pocket knife". ( I don't use this sheath, but this is the best photo I have).

An original Tommy Lee (now being a mass produced pattern):

And then there's this little Dan Cowles:

High praise for the Moki Banff knives! I have one of the medium-sized ones and out of 15 or so other knives around the house it is my favorite by far. It handles very nicely for such a small knife with minimal bulk. Thin edge, acute point, great materials, amazing F&F!

Mcusta has a nice little series of damascus fixed blades...
Wow! I never paid any attention to this brand before. For no real reason but they are a revelation. I am inspired by the handle design of the Katana series folders. Capturing the essence of the Japanese handle in forged aluminium. That is 0DegK kinda cool. Might merge that and the FB handle design in one of my knives though with props to the designers of course.
