Hello people. I have a friend looking to get a knife that is more
on the sheeple friendly side. Here are his preferences:

Prefers
- SS/Metal Handles, but G10 is fine.
- Thumbstud opening.
- Blade Length appx 3"
- Around $50 or less.
- Pocket Clip.

Does NOT prefer:

- Assisted Opening.
- Wharncliff blades.

Now I'll let what you guys do best. Thanks.

How about the Benchmade Nagara?

Looks like it's not too far above the $50 price point. Seems to fit the bill in most of what you're looking for.

Hey haven't I seen ur youtube vids?

If you're referring to me it's a possibility, my name on youtube is
sungwei9.

John-Boy, great call! I don't know why I didin't think of that.
Lowest I could find it for on the web though was $66 from a
reputable dealer. But I'll definitely let him know.

You can possibly find the Kershaw Saphire for around that, if you look hard. It has a nice gentlemanly profile, and the colored Titanium handle is pretty fancy. They've been discontinued for a little while, but that can be a plus, as folks may be dumping stock.

Good luck,
Daniel

Nagara is nice but will still scare the non-knife people.

I have an alternative: the new Boker Plus Exskelibur 2, which is the very nicely made production version of the Burger exk1 custom. I have its big brother and this smaller one is on order. It looks like a two-hand knife, but it's actually easy to open with one hand (video HERE, and I tried it myself in the factory shop when I bought the big one). While perfectly made, it's pretty affordable in the USA, Knifecenter has it for a few cents less than $40 and you'll probably find similar good deals by googling.
Contoured G10 handles and anodised blue titanium liner and clip. Decent midrange 440C steel. Lovely!

This thread is becomming more for me than for him now, lol.
That Boker is awesome! Gonna look up the Sapphire.

Perhaps the bigger Böker Exskelibur 1 (blade around 3.5", around $55 if you shop wisely) is also of interest to you. If you want to see it in the hand, I made a short review clip about it.
