Cutting right to the chase, I'm looking for a gentleman's folder. I'm hoping to replace a Kershaw Crown with something similar of higher quality - I thought I had hit the jackpot when I saw the CRK Mnandi, until I realized it lacks a one handed opening method.

Is there a knife out there of that quality and design that has a thumb stud/hole? Basically, a small thin gentleman's knife that can be opened/closed one handed.

I would respectfully disagree.....if you get the older style with the larger nail nick it is certainly one-handed opening and closing. The newer version is still do-able, but you need a pinch technique rather than the standard method. If you like the Mnandi, find the older type and you'll love it.....that I guarantee!!

William Henry.

If you want something less expensive but really nice, consider the Spyderco Gayle Bradley Air.

Check out the William Henry line of knives as expwmbat suggests. I have B30 Gentac and a B10 Lancet that I would consider gentleman's folders. WH knives have thumb stubs and a one hand button lock that I find terrific. Fit, finish and materials on these and my other WH knives is terrific.

The Mnandi can be opened one handed. If you go for an older style with the old nail nick and detent, they're nice and smooth one handed openers. However, the newer models seem to be hit or miss..I can open my new model with one hand, not everyone can.
