A very nice fella by the name of Jeremy contacted me about making a sharpening steel. I like the idea he has but, I've never made a steel myself and am flat out of spare time. I'd like to find someone that can help Jeremy out or at least point him in the right direction. Anyone have some ideas?
Thanks,
J.

Hi Stacy,
He's looking for a handle of wood, bone antler or such to be put on a steel blank (unless someone wants to make the steel itself). If you or anyone else is interested in talking to him about it, let me know and I'll send you his addy.

What I am not clear on is what he wants different from what he can buy from any culinary supplier? You can get a steel in anything from metal to ceramic to diamond. You can get it in wood ,stag, plastic, etc. What is the "custom" thing he wants? Is he looking for a fantastic burl wood handle?I could certainly put a custom handle on a good quality steel.
Stacy
