Hi,

my friend is looking to get his first EDC blade but he's not really keen on the whole dedicated knife thing. He's a stylish guy so he wants a stylish knife too.

He likes the British Army/Navy knife here:

but would rather have a dedicated bottle opener than a can opener. A bottle opener w/ a screwdriver tip would be ideal.

He also wants something black -- preferably with black blades/components as well, like this Wenger:

I suggested the Victorinox Bantam, but i don't think he likes that one too much.

if there was something like an EKA Swede 90 but with black handles that'd be awesome: http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?strParents=92,134&CAT_ID=134&P_ID=4204

The budget is around $40.

If this is a hard knife to find with these requirements I understand, but I'm looking for some help.

Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't be too hard to regrind the can opener into a bottle opener/screwdriver I would think.

That's a nice looking knife btw.

IIRC that Wenger with the black blades is quite expensive. The nearest Vic equivalent is the Waiter, like the Bantam but with a corkscrew on the back. You can certainly get them with black scales but you'll have to do a bit of hunting around. You can also buy replacement scales in black, blue, white or transparent (jelly) red and blue.

There is also the Buck Twin Peaks as well.
