I picked up a set of three of these (one for me, one for each of my sons). It's Item number: 6614533158 on ebay.

I did a search and can't find these listed on the threads. I really like the size of the 3OTs for small lockback carry arounds. Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

ps. They have a best offer deal. Mine was accepted at a buck more than 1/2 price, plus shipping. Thought maybe one or two of you guys might want one...just a friendly heads-up. Thanks.

What the hell? The 3OT is a delrin handled barehead lockback. What is this? This blade tang stamp is wrong for the handle.
What this appears to be is an SS30 with the wrong blade in it. So your seller is partially right about being derived from the 3rd Generation series. Here is an ebay seller offering them....

Below is a 3OT from the last Schrade on line catalog.

Phil -- I don't know either. I have a 3OT like the one in your picture. So it's listed incorrectly (wouldn't be the first time...lol). I guess I'll know when I get 'em. Just trying to avoid cheap China knockoff/taylor stuff.

I looked at your seller's knife again, that '3OT' is pretty clear in the photo. I was hoping one of the other guys would have given their opinion by then. I can understand you not wanting to get ripped off with cheap china stuff, but it's just as bad to get screwed by USA made parts knife.

Anyone else have a comment on this one?

Its possible it came from the factory (SS30) because its a polished blade. As you probably know if there were shortages for the correct stamped blade sometimes a blade of the same pattern (with a different stamp and / or material) would be used. The standard 3OT knife used a doubleheader (scotchbrite) finished blade.

So today I received the three knives. They were tang stamped: SCHRADE+ USA SS30.

Not the 3OT as indicated in the advertised picture.

Nice little knives, a little scuffed, but engravable I suppose for gifts for my sons.

Any thoughts on how to deal with the ebayer? I've emailed them already to tell them that they are not sending what is being advertised, and that their tang stamp is incorrect.

Ya know... just my opinion here, but you got a good price on them and once you have them engraved for your sons... the knives become priceless. I have dealt with the seller before, I think he is honest, but not real 'up' on the product he is selling in every case.

I went back to his listing and apparently the photo has been changed.

Instead of 'what the hell", I'm gonna write: You must be a good dad, to think of having the knives engraved for your boys.

Best to ya,
Phil

Phil -- I've decided that, whether it was an honest mistake or not, in the grand scheme of life, it's just three knives, I didn't get exactly what I hoped for, but they will still make nice gifts some day for my sons when I engrave them. I didn't have any SS30s. The seller has 3000 good comments, deals in volumes of knives, and I got 'em at a fair price.
