Looking for a small, classy fixed blade to carry around town. It will be for minor tasks. I am thinking of the Buck 113 or 192. Any other suggestions?

What maximum blade length and dollars?

That Boker listed above is pretty sweet if you can go a little smaller.

Ka-Bar Little Finn is quite gentlemanly and $30 with sheath. Great EDC size in my opinion for a fixed blade at 3 5/8". Hunter style blade which isn't everyone's EDC choice, but depending on your day to day, its an idea. Not USA manufactured but on a budget its a winner, and Ka-Bar's overseas offerings are well-made.

Its tough to get the fit and finish of that Buck 113 for the price. Having said that, the Condor mini Bushlore 3" is a true EDC with Carbon Steel for $35. Not the classiest thing you'll ever see but its a tough one.

Let us know what you decide as I am curious about this topic.

Mini Bushlore. Looks ok..

Depending on how basic you want it, A. G. Russell sells his Woodswalker knife for less than $30 shipped, I think.

It comes in a nice leather sheath that sits upright in a back pocket, or you can find it with a kydex sheath for a little more.

Here's his "Straight knives" page with some other good ones, as well. http://www.agrussell.com/knives-by-maker-ag-russell-straight-knives/c/3065/

As he is a registered dealer here, I have no problem posting this link.

Get a Pukko?

Pics are from a friend :)

The buck 113 is definitely nice for every day carry. I made a lefty sheath for mine and added a lanyard for easier axcess. No lanyard in the pic though. It's s great little knife.

This sounds like a job for the makers exchange. Keep an eye out and I'm sure you will find something you like you may have to stretch the budget. But most people have quite reasonable prices for the time and effort put in.

Bought my boy one of these, and am quite impressed with the quality. The sheaths are made in Mexico from thick durable leather. The knife is made in Taiwan, and there's not a thing wrong with it. A bargain.

I'd also recommend some of the Scandinavian brands in your price range. The distinctive style and long histories make for an interesting conversation piece. Something like the Lapin Puuko would stand out as exotic, and classy.

Google the term "desk knife".

I have no idea who makes this one, but it looks interesting - Sarge Desk Knife, Model SK-38.

Check out the Helle knives at Ragnars ragweed forge (I believe he is a member and is VERY popular). A little higher in price but exceptional quality and craftsmanship and they look good too :D.

Not sure how much you are willing to bend on that $60, but I have carrying a damascus esee izula as a suit knife for a little while now, and have used it for some medium cutting chores without issue. Excellent blade, and would definitely fall under small and classy.

Alltough only a 3" blade, i think the Böker Nippon looks like a gentlemans fixed blade...

The Buck 113 is nice, but the 192 is a bit on the large side, I think. I thought this over and carry an Esee Izula, a Kershaw Field Knife, or a custom D2 made buy a guy in Cullman, AL. and just drop them in my pocket.

I do not know what your tastes are, but Canal Street makes knives in this size range that I have been drooling over. Here is one, but they come in bone, buffalo, stag, elk, whitetail, and more scales. http://www.knifeworks.com/canalstreetdholderhunterredjiggedbonehandles.aspx#.VBrJa5SSwb4

Also, the Spyderco Street Beat is very nice, indeed. http://www.knifeworks.com/spydercostreetbeatmicartahandleplainboltaronsheath.aspx

Most gentlemen don't carry fixed blades around town. It just doesn't happen.

Arno Bernard knives might fit the bill for what you are looking for though.
