Gentlemen's Folders?

I like the Buck Mayo TNT (top), Strider PT (5th), Chris Reeve Mnandi (bottom), and Chris Reeve Small Sebenza (not pictured.) The Lone Wolf Paul Presto is great for $120 or so and the Spyderco Kiwis are nice and relatively affordable.

Hey, Sabastian, welcome to BF.

It depends on what you mean by 'Gentlemen's folder'. Are you looking for a traditional slipjoint, or a one-hand opening knife?

There are plenty to choose from in your price range.

Thanks for all the help! and cgmblade, I'm thinking of a knife thats one-hand opening and elegant. I've got a couple of damascus mcustas and paul knives and have recently fallen in love with all of William Henry's knives - the William Henry's are far out of my price range however. Do you know how long the wait for a Minandi would be?

Take a look at the Spyderco Native 4CF

Any of the Fallkniven TK3 series, or, for a large folder that still fits the gentleman catagory, the Fallkniven PXL.

Nemesis Knives has a high quality gentleman's folder made in Seki-City. 2 1/2" VG-10 blade, titanium liners, with your choice of bocote, ebony, black palm, or kingwood scales. Sells for about a $100 bucks on the net. (the black palm is especially striking in person)

What the hell? XD

If I had that kind of budget for a gent's folder, I'd probably get a Minandi. Love that knife..

Get the Mnandi because you will sooner or later. CRK's quoted wait time for Mnandis is 4-8 weeks but in my experience they are faster than their projected wait times.

I was going to suggest the A.G. Russell One Handed Knife. cgmblade beat me to it. I have one with stag scales and I love it.

I classify a gentlemen's folder as something to look at but still functional. Have a look here. www.swordcane.com They make an array of different handle materials and all hand made products. (Just a bit over your price range though with all the exotic woods) The plain models with G10 are also great knives for the price and elegant. You can email Trevor and ask for options such as carbon fiber, duel liners, pocket clip etc. Here is a whole thread on how they are made with pictures:

Just a taste: Giraffe shin bone, stainless bolsters and damascus blade with the standerd model EXK.

The Mnandi is a great knife also.
