Thanks for all your suggestions in my search for a new Gent's folder. Per my original request, I was looking for a lightweight (Ti or CF) folder in the sub 3" blade size. Having recently picked up a William Henry CF Kestrel, I wanted another EDC w/a little more size.

I gotta say, the search was half the fun. Handling dozens of folder at the cutlery shops and countless hrs at the online retailers and mfr's websites were both informative and fun! I'd been looking at everything from custom on down and after handling this Benchnmade 770 in carbon fiber, it really appealed to me. It's my first BM, but likely not my last. Quality and materials are fantastic and the action is butter smooth. The AXIS lock is also a great design. Anyway, here's a couple of proud papa shots of a new EDC to work into the rotation.

Nice blade. I have one, but the handle finish is more refined on yours than mine is...did you buy from a dealer or from and individual?

Very classy.

The Benchmade/Osborne 770 is a sharp looking knife, nice pick up.

This one is also okay... a G.Sakai in Titanium with cocobolo scales. the MOP ones make it look like a pimp´s knife. IMHO.

PatrickB - Congrats - I think you're gonna love that 770. I gulped at the price when I got mine, but I've never since regretted the purchase. The 770 is one knife I've never even been tempted to disassemble because it always functions perfectly without tinkering. The 154CM takes and holds and holds a wicked edge, and the (boron?) coating has held up beautifully. And it rides so low and lightly in the pocket, it always seems to tag along, especially when a polite knife is in order. Enjoy!
