I'm looking at the Al Mar Osprey. Any others in the same general class in terms of price and quality? I'd like a choice of wood or pearl scales. I might spend more if it knocks my socks off.

A 2.5" blade is out -- it must under 2.5".

Check out William Henry. Might be a bit pricy, but they make a few ~2.5" gent's folders with a myriad of handle choices.

You might have a look at the Spyderco Kiwi. I have one with the stag handles and it a quite an impressive little knife.

The Al Mars are built by Moki which is considered one of the best in the world. The smaller William Henry models are also very nice. The Spyderco Kiwi is nice but just didn't work well in my hand (TOO ergonomic).

Santa Fe Stoneworks customizes all kinds of knives by adding stone scales - here's some links to some Kershaws and Spydercos. A gussied-up Dragonfly would perfectly fit your needs. There's also someone on these forums who adds awesome wood scales to Spydies, but I forget his name, it starts with a V . . . . . Vespa? Vargas?

2.75 inches closed, I dont know how long the blade is open, may just fit your criteria though
