So ive gotten the INFI bug and have added a number of Busse's to my collection over the last few months. I recently purchased an ASH-1 CG that was stripped and has a convex grind. I really prefer satin finishes and figured this would be a great user. Its a great looking knife and I have no reason to doubt the seller but I'm still wondering, how do i know it's an authentic piece of INFI? No Busse logo give the stripped blade. Thoughts?

I've never seen a knockoff of an ASH-1, but I've never seen a convex ground ASH-1 CG either. I beleve all of my ASH-1 CG's are flat ground. The logo must have went bye-bye when it was re-ground.

But as Dan said, post pictures. You never know.

I purchased a set of steel heart blanks that were made by some random ebay seller (or made by a local machinist and sold by the seller), which I then shipped to jerry. With some effort those blanks could have been pretty spot on with a satined sh steel heart. But, such instances appear to be extremely rare, that instance, alone with the whole chinese maker selling mojo knock offs are the only two I've seen where it was made to look exactly like a standard busse.

The mojo's had signs that tipped off that it wasn't quite right. If you can post an image, there will likely be signs of whether it's a knock off or not - but it's really, really, really unlikely that it would be.

Like, really unlikely.

If you were going to strip a CG Ash which is .32 thick at the spine and were using a belt sander to remove the Infi dimples and give it a satin finish etc ... then like as not it would make perfect sense to change the thick flat grind to a fully convex grind .... so I would'nt worry unduly .... pic's help to be more sure the knife is likely to be the genuine article or things like was it shipped with the cardboard sheath which had the Busse inspection sticker on it .... but given the cost involved in "cloning" a CG Ash which is a fairly thick knife and costly regardless of the steel used .... it is doubtful it is cloned.

Send it to me and I'll do some scientific batoning and abusing, only then will you know the truth

I stripped and convexed my old ash1cg. But then again, I did not do a full convex.

The skinny ash1's were convex grind, but much skinnier!

I really would not worry too much about it. Like has been said above, I have not seen a bogus Ash1.
