I noticed a Higonokami style chow set on page 33 of the Schrade book (George Schrade and His Accomplishments to the Knife Industry) and I located, what I believe is a part of the set, the folding fork/opener:
It is unmarked except for this on the opener tang: "Patent No. 2,391,732." This patent was issued to Michael A. Mirando, Providence, RI, 12-25-1945 (applied 11-07-1944) Assignees: Imperial Knife Co., Inc. Providence, RI. I can only connect it to George Schrade by the picture in the book.
It looks quite similar to the Imperial Scout Chow Sets except that this one has the can opener/cap lifter combination blade in addition to the fork while the Imperial forks have the cap lifter as part of the fork's tang and no can opener and no other blade.
Does anyone have the set? Is there a tang stamp on the knife connecting it to G. Schrade? Thank you.
