Dear friends,

Some times the knife has a good stell and ideal hardeness but not cut very well.
In my opinion and it not new, the grind form is fundamental to performace the knife.
My question is: Which the 3 forms the court is better: hollow ground, flat ground and convex ground?

Thanks a lot,
Ricardo Romano Bernardes.

IMO, the full flat ground knife would be the sharpest and have the most useful life...

On thicker stock (3/16-1/4) hollow grinding looks cool though, and helps with the balance...I have friends who do nothing but hollow grinds and they (and their customers) love it...

On thin stock like 1/16, convex grinds come into play...Easy to do but hard to sharpen after a while...This edge is used on camp knives as well to keep the edge strong and resist chipping out...Good for an ax, for example...
