AWESOME TAH! Thanks for showing it. George Herron was truly one of the masters of knifemaking.
There was a display case of Herron knives, owned by a collector, set up at Blade that I had the pleasure of seeing. Each knife was just SO right in every detail, and the folders were SMOOTH!
I've had the fighter since '86 and the hunter since '97. Once a year, I rub a little mineral oil on the ivory, but I thought I read or was told that George boiled his ivory in oil to help reduce the risk of cracking. Can anyone confirm that he actually did this and if it helps?
