Spent a week and a half in Alabama/Georgia after Blade Show for lots of woods bumming and new gear testing for upcoming magazine reviews.
Some was in Patrick's woods and some in Alabama at Jeff's.

Lots of fun, mosquitos, Angry Orchard, and friends!

I think there may have been more than one that day.

I did get one on Friday though.
Think like it's both of ours, we just keep it at my place.

Were you close to Little River Canyon in Alabama? I'm from Fort Payne and Your pics make me homesick. Looks like you had a blast.

OH MAN!!! Now I'm REALLY home sick. I grew up in the canyon from Desoto falls to canyon mouth campground. I used to swim in the Blue hole and under G. E. Hill bridge. Now I have to plan a trip home....

I'm not exactly sure where that is, but it has to be good if it's anything like he areas I have been surrounding Fort Payne..

G.E.Hill Bridge is the main road crossing the canyon, the small falls look like the falls under the bridge. That canyon is FULL of rattlesnakes, copperheads, and cottonmouths. I only camped in the winter months. Good fishing too.

VERY cool photos! Seems like a damn good time out in the woods if you ask me. Your camp looks awesome too.

I've been thinking about either the Cherokee or the Brave by Smith & Sons for a while now but I really can't decide between the two. I'm surprised these knives aren't more popular for how strikingly good they look and the top-quality materials they use. What are your thoughts on them?

If you like bigger knives get the Cherokee. It sees thicker than the 1/8" notated on the website. I used the Brave (and so did Jay) on our last overnighter:

and w were both very happy with the D2, ergonomics, and size.

I'd say get the Brave for lightweight carry.

Nice, thanks for the link, don't know how I missed that thread. How does the spine of the Brave (or Cherokee) do with throwing sparks off a firesteel?

Also, it appears that there is a slight curve on the Cherokee from end to end while the Brave looks completely straight (not accounting for the drop point). Am I correct on this?

Been out of town, sorry for the delay.

Cherokee throws sparks, Brave doesn't.
Cherokee has more...curve!

Any more info you can provide on the super light possibles bag? Liking the looks of the size and material.
