Georgia knife makers

New to the page im based out of covington georgia and am looking into getting into knife making. I want to get into kitchen knife making (i currently cook in fine dining) and am looking for a mentor or teacher of some kind near or around atlanta if anyone knows of recommendations or directions to go or start in.

Brice.... I am a member of the Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild... our next quarterly meeting is hosted by Pops Knife Supply at their store in Gainesville, GA on May 17th .... Saturday..meetings typically start at 9am, they are open to the public , i.e., no charge to attend! they open with Guild business meeting, followed by one or two demos before lunch (no charge), perhaps a demo after lunch and an 'Iron-in-the-hat'.... members bring 'stuff' for the table, tickets are sold, if your number (on your ticket) is called , you go to the table and select an item and become infected with a serious knife making disease all for the cost of a ticket! Both Pops and the Guild have a FB page. I look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
