I just acquired a Gerber 06 Auto with Tanto blade. The blade is 3.7" long, about half serrated, of S30V steel. The handles are 6061 aircraft aluminum handles. The blade is marked "S30V" on one side, and "Made in USA" on the other. This knife was given to me by a friend. I explained to him that S30V was one of the better knife steels out there, and also pointed out what I thought were strong points on this knife. Such as the grip, pocket-clip, etc. I even offered him some money for it but he refused. I gave him a heartfelt "thank you" and accepted the knife.
I always had mixed feelings about the quality of Gerber knives, and actually only have the Gerber fixed blade Profile that I actually like. I researched this 06-Auto on the Gerber website as well as the search function here. Not many hits. The website apparently sells these only to LEO's and Military. From what I could find on Google these go for between $100-$149.00.
I would like to know if any members here have any reviews of this knife, or similar Gerber products. Thank you.
