Alright, I'm sort of new to the whole BladeForums.com thing, But I want to be a part of the comunity.
I recently bought a Gerber 600 Needlenose Multi-Tool direct from their site. When I opened it, I noticed that something was a little odd...Or was it?
The needlenose plyers were a little loose (It "Wiggles" a bit).
I just wanted to know if this is normal, Or if I should send it back. (Please tell me I don't have to send it back, I payed for 3 day shipping, and got it in 14 days  )
I also noticed it was a little hard putting the plyers back into the handle because it moves a bit to the side...Does any one else have the same problem...Or is it even a problem at all?

I have one of the original Gerber Multiplier models with the blunt nose pliers and it has some play...I think it's inherent in the design. I have one of the 400 series with needlenose pliers and it is still fairly tight but does have some play...it was bought at an extremely good price just to have. Once the tool is broken in, the pliers should deploy easily with a flick of the wrist.

Yeah, it's normal. It rattles when it's closed, it rattles when it's open. That rattle is the main reason I dislike Gerbers. Well, that and those crummy Fiskars scissors. Oh, and the crappy finishes they use. And the bulk, compared to other tools with similar features.

Guess I just don't care for Gerbers...

But don't worry about the rattle, it's normal.

Yeah, it's loose a bit, but when you grip something, or you hold the handle tight, there is no more play....So I guess that's a good thing.
And thanks John.
