Greetings! Am fairly new to this forum...Hopefully I got into the right section for this question:

I recently recieved a Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert. Overall, it seems to be a pretty decent knife. However, I was wondering: Is there any kind of adjustment that can be made to it to make it easier to operate when using only one hand? Ergonomically, when I compare the ease of one-handed operation of this Gerber to a Cold Steel Voyager I've got, the Voyager is much easier to operate. Of note, the location of the thumb stud on the Voyager is proportionally a bit further away from the point of pivot than that of the Gerber (hopefully that makes sense). Since I really can't change the location of the thumb stud on the Gerber, I was hoping someone might have some ideas for me.

Thanks!

The pivot is a torx or hex head screw, yes?

Try adjusting that.

And/or try changing how you apply movement to the thumbstud. Some knives you really need to operate the thumbstud by simply moving the thumb along the blade/handle "groove" and maintain that movement once contact with the thumbstud is made.
