Gerber AR 3.00 - Serrated Blade Opinions?

Howdy All,

I'm thinking of making the Gerber AR 3.00 Folder my next buy. Any output or opinions? And the price is a factor too...:)

It'll be mainly used as a standard civvy carry, might even follow me into the field as a backup to my KaBar during my yearly Reserves Training.

I'm getting an AR3 for Christmas :) I checked out the plain edge and the serrated and the serrated just didn't impress me that much. It's not as sharp as many other manufacturers' knives.

i really like the AR design though and will be looking to get a Harsey Air Ranger early next year as well.
 
I recently bought one from SMKW for $20, to raffle off at my gun club. I closely inspected the knife upon its' arrival, and found no QC issues. It was acceptably sharp OOTB. At THAT price, I'd recommend the knife as a decent, economical, light duty EDC. JMO.
 
Might be a long shot, but would anyone here be willing to help me out with a Gerber purchase? I'd be grateful...and I have Paypal. Just a thought.

Regarding your purchase, check over in the Knife Exchange forum. You may be able to find a good buy over there.

Try using the search function and limiting it to the Knife Exchange forum. If that doesn't do it, and you can't do SMKW, try (gasp) Ebay. Most sellers are will ing to ship darn near anywhere for a price.

Al, tried your suggestion and [Gasp!]EBay but nobody has a Gerber AR.

Looks like I'll have to depend on the good samaritian bit...if I'm lucky...:)
