Just purchased a New Gerber ATS-34 Gator knife w/sheath for 20 bucks..I am not a huge fan of gerber..but i have one of these knives already..its actually i cool knife, drop pt blade, good steal, lock back, 9 inches open..sweet..my only gerber love...anyone else ever use it?

I had one years ago, long before the ATS-34 version. Great looking knife that seemed to perform well. My biggest complaint is that they have never to my knowledge made a version with a pocket clip.

I have three of them that I use for hunting. My first one dates back as far as maybe 1998. I don't know what steel they are since they're not stamped. While I've jumped on the new steel snobbery bandwagon and have many other brands of knives, I have to say, that I've gutted and skinned lots of tough hogs and deer with the gator and they've performed great. One time I shot a big hog and was skinning it out in the woods. I had 3 knives from other makes and my buddy had my gator. I had to sharpen all four other knives several times while my buddy never had to with the gator and it remained sharp even after we were done. A great knife for the price and they remain on my atv and hunting pack as a staple.

The Gator is a good user.It holds up well and for all the ........I only buy knives made in the USA it is.

The Gator is one of a handful of Gerbers I actually like the look and feel of. Now that I know about the 154 CM version, I might just have to pick one up.
