Gerber Bear Grylls Parang?

I don't think it's out yet, but it it is full tang and "high-carbon steel", it should be a pretty decent piece. I too am looking foward to a review, but I also am waiting on my Diving Sparrow Parang:D:thumbup:

Considering the edge/handle angle and off-set, I have serious questions about you could use that thing.
Just try to picture what your wrist angle should be in order to hit someting except with the lowest third of the blade.

To bad they didn't show a live demo, that could have been fun.

First of all...in regards to the Diving Sparrow...you lucky bastard!
Second, I thought the BG knife was "full tang" also......jus saying

I have more reason to believe the "full tang" claim with this piece given the bolt at the end of the handle. It looks like an interesting piece, and I'll probably end up with one just to give it a look.

I doubt that Gerber is going to make a false claim about the product. I'm sure the tang runs back to the end of the handle. It's probably a full tang like the factory Falknivens. But not nearly as good. It says it's high carbon steel, but does not say if it's a carbon steel. Companies clain that 420 is a high carbon steel. Time will tell, as the product is released. Bear was smart to ditch Bayley and go with Gerber. They will sell millions more. Very smart financial move. :jerkit:
