gerber BG panga

I've seen some less than stellar reviews about gerber'g BG line so far, but none about the Parang. Anybody have any thoughts?


OOPS meant the PARANG
 
I think iw would work fine, but if you go up 10 bucks you get a condor parang that will probably outperform this, and if not that, will most likely outlast it. just my opinion. if you are aiming toward the cheap end, a nice cheap tramonchina (spelling?) machete will do fine at 6 bucks or whatever it is. if you want a solid performer, junglas.
 
I wouldn't trust anything from Gerber, let alone their BG line. (Anything new that is, they made a solid product back in the day)

You took the words right out of my mouth! I sell the bear grylls stuff at my job. Most of the time its to the 18 year olds whose eyes light up when they see his face all over the packaging. That parang on the other hand does seem pretty nice for a Gerber, but I'll never use anything other than my woodsmans pal!
