HELLO ALL,

I feel a bit of a fraud, as I am not a collector, and have little interest in other knives.

I am trying to buy a new or second hand Gerber BMF. Is this model still made if so? help.

Is their a second hand market for this type of knife?

Thanks to you all, may you enjoy your hobby to the full.

Richard, welcome to the forums.

The Gerber BMF is dicontinued, but you can still find them. First I would post in our own knives wanted to buy forum. Second you might check some of the online auctions.

For the price that you will pay for one of these, you could get a nice BUSSE or other quality knife. I am not saying that the Gerber is not good, I am just saying they are a little pricy for what they are. Just my opinion, and WELCOME.

Thanks Rattler,

And for the warm welcome to. Its just I like the look of this knife. Do you know what the BMF stands for? Do the BUSSE look much the same.

I have seen one for 229 euros but its in Paris France and they will not post to the UK. Sept 11 I think.

Kind Regards RB

Hey, Richard, welcome to Bladeforums. A quick search on ebay turned up seven BMF's ranging in price from 100-250$US. I agree with Rattler that while the Gerber is not a bad knife, you could probably find a better knife for the money. You might want to take a look at Tops Knives In particular, check out the Fire Strike.

You bet. I really like this knife also, and BMF stands for "Basic Multi Function" knife. I always said it was "BIG MOTHER ------".;)

Was that their Bowie Style knife? If you want a user, you could get a new knife thats made a little better for the same or less than what you would pay getting the BMF at a collectors price (supply and demand sucks ass sometimes )

Swamp Rat makes some big knives in the same style as Busse for a little less $ I think. They look awesome. Theres a picture of one in the knife, gun, and watch thread thats going right now.
