gerber bmf

I had one, it was a cool knife, felt good in the hand and had an excellent sheath. They haven't been made in quite a while and are somewhat collectible now. If you get one, I'd reccomend the non sawback version.

I had one of the small ones. Great design and appurtenances, but I could never get it to cut. I wound up trading the thing off after they got rare.

I own a shameless Brazilian made copy of the sawbacked Gerber BMF. I once saw an X-ray on TV (Life in the ER?) of a BMF stabbed through the back of a skull. About half the blade had penetrated, and the guy actually lived! Once I saw that x-ray I had to go buy the BMF copy, it only cost about $15.

It penetrates well but I agree its not much of a cutter. I'm going to get around to reprofiling the edge someday. Mac
