well i caved in today and bought it.. its been sitting in the store for ages now and finaly on sale today for less than $10 it was to good to pass up even if it is neon pink.

but what i'd like to know about it is. if any of you have had any experience with the little knife and also when the knife was discontinued... it seems like its an older knife (2000 perhaps)

but anyways for those who dont know what it looks like heres some pics.

yes many will be thinking "ARGH MY EYES"

It almost looks like the sheath has a whistle molded in.

Seems like Meyerco made these too, hope someone else has more info, kinda neat design.

if your talking about the little hole at the bottom of the sheath then thats where the finger guard fits into.

Wow, long time since I've seen someone bring these up... I've got a black one that I got in the mid-90's. If I recall, they've got a relatively low rockwell hardness, somewhere around 56Rc. Mine seemed to need frequent sharpening. Still, they're a cute and handy little necker, and apparently cheap nowadays. For the most part, I have a snobbery against stainless and synthetic materials, but thanks to this thread, I may have to find an excuse to use mine again.

Edit: Oh, and for anyone that may not have already known, they were apparently designed by Blackie Collins, hence the "Blackie" on the right side of the blade.

I've always wanted one of those. But I'd probably take a pass on the hot pink. :D

Is that lock action the same as Blackie Collins' Thumb Bolt, or is something different?

yep 56hrc mod440 blackie and the "flex-a-bolt" yea i know im not to fond of the hot pink ether but it was just too good a deal to pass up. the reason why it was so cheap was becuase the store had the knife for a number of years and no-one would buy it(posibly for it being pink?) i liked the design and wanted a little necker anyways (sub 2'') i did just replace the lanyard with a natural vr of paracord i have.

This is something I know how to fix and for less than $2
Sand everything pink with a medium grad sandpaper and then clean with rubbing alcohol.
Cover the pink areas with black nail polish and allow to dry.
sand with a finer grade of sand paper.
black nail polish & dry
finer grad of sandpaper
black polish - dry and buff
finish with a clear varnish

If your Caucasian, you can make this actually blend with your skin tone. Go to your local magic supply store and get a can of flesh colored paint. They use it to paint parts of objects in slight of hand tricks. The cool thing is the knife will be invisible to a casual viewer, until you need it. Paint it the same as above but use a flat clear finish.

good luck
