Hey all, I am trying to nail down the model of Gerber(s), not sure if it is a Command 1 or some other varient. Both knives have the armorhide coating on the handles, but I cant seem to find any other variants with this blade style to determine the model and year.
Looking for a value as well.

serial number lists for the mark 2 dont correspond with the command 2. the sword stone logo will help though. early 1980s

Yes. Command 2. The handles seems to be painted. They dont have the original matte finnish.

npt6214, your knives originally had all black handles. Someone painted the handles after initial purchase. Gerber did make Mark II knives with an orange & black handle, as well as a yellow and black handle. There also were a smaller number of Command II knives made with an orange handle, but the orange was of a lighter color and the entire handle was orange. It is hard to tell without the knife in hand, but your orange painted Command II looks like one of the initially quite rare Command II non serrated knives. Unfortunately, it looks like someone added the serrations after it left the Gerber factory. Again, it is hard to tell from your pictures, so it may have been a standard Command II with aggressive resharpening to the serrations. The non serrated Command II knives were a special order request, and to date there are less than 10 documented by me. I am the co author with John at militarycarryknives.com, Mark II side. If you go to the "ABOUT US" section, I am Dan. Attached are examples of Gerber's factory made Command II knives with a non serrated blade and the Orange Command II dive knife. Your orange handled Command II was made in 1979, and the yellow handled Command II was made in 1981. IMG_6787 copy.JPG
