Hi. I have the larger Gerber multi tool which is very similiar to the smaller one, and have been carring it for about 4 years. Overall, it's my favorite multi tool out there. As far as I know, it is the only multi tool that has blades/tools that will lock. It has been extremely useful countless times and has never failed. I don't use the knife on it, but all the other tools have come in handy. I also like the fact that you can change the saw blade by adding different jig saw blades. Excellent multi tool.

I carry the compact sport model and I love it. It is by far my favorite of all the multitools. I like to keep it in my pocket rather than the sheath and since it is slightly smaller than the full size version I find it carries well that way. The selection of tools is very good and I use the pliers constantly. The other tool I use most often is the large screwdriver which I need for prying open paint cans. I like the fact that after owning and using this tool on a daily basis for over a year I still haven't marred the plier jaws to any significant degree and the tool still performs flawlessly. I wish it had a file but other than that it's perfect for me.

I saw the Gerber Compact Sport Multitool at a local Wal-Mart for $25. I have an older Grber Multitool and love it but I am attracted by the smaller size of the Compact Sport.

I may just get one.

The Gerber Compact Sport is a neat little tool.We all (including myself) get excited over the Leathermans and other brands but I think the little Gerber is simple, light, rugged, and could handle most any job that other multi-tools might be faced with.

thanks for all the input and Rick1955 I bought it at wal-mart $25 lowest price for it around. I hope my dad likes it.
