Hi folks,

recently i purcased a gerber air ranger and was at first very pleased with its design and its over all fit and finish. But after a few days i
recognised a little bladeplay. This only happens when the the blade isn´t locked and it is neither a horizontal nor vertical play, but rather kind of bladeplay caused by a too small axis.
Is this to be tolerated? Or do you think this could and schould be corrected? Unfortunatly i wasnt able to find an email address on the gerber home page. Could someone help?

Hi bolle,

First of all, welcome to BladeForums.com! :D

Sorry for the problems your having with your knife. Here's information on warranty processing.

Please let us know how things turn out!

I have the same knife. I think it has the same minute amount of lateral play when the blade is closed along the lenght of the knife. I see no problems with this and it doesnt affect the operation of the knife in anyway. Unless the knife doesnt stay closed,I wouldnt worry about it. It doesnt hurt to send it in though.

I had no luck contacting Gerber customer service via email. If you have any sucess, please let us know how to get in contact with them.

Hi,
since i am living in germany (old europe) sending the knife back to gerber is no option to me - would be too expensive.
i think i shall have to acept this little fault. :(

Weird that gerber doesn´t seem to have a costomer service that is deserving this name. Many probs could be discussed this way without the hazzle of sending the knife in.
I tried to get in contact with fiscars who is the owner of gerber, but they dindn´t reply on my request - bad thing.
