I just picked up a Gerber Evolution 650 multi-tool. It's the one with the interchangeable jaws.

I used a gerber multi-tool for years before trying out a leatherman wave. I have been using the wave for the last 2 years or so.

Today over my noon hour I seen on tv they were showing the Gerber factory and what went into making there multi-tool.

So tonight I just had to walking buy the multi-tools well shopping  and I got the urge to try out the gerber evolution.

It's seem as if the jaw's open wider then my old gerber I used years ago.

I thought the jaws would slide into the handle like they did on my old gerber but they do not.

This makes it longer to carry on the belt, but it may also be some of the reason why the jaws open more then they use to on my old one I had years ago.

It's still shorter then carry a full size plier's on your side.

Anyone else using the Gerber Evolution or tried one?
If so how do you like it?

The Leatherman wave went back on my belt today and the Gerber got returned to target.

The gerber was just to big. :(

I was looking at this product online a few months ago, specifically the cable cutter attachment. It was not clear to me how the heads attach or how strong they are. Any info you can give us on that? Also, was it a common retail store that had them in stock?

Thanks.

The head snaps on and off from the front of the tool.
Gerber has photo's of this on there web site.

I bought it at Target and I think I had seen them at Sears.
