is the gerber fast draw a good knife? they have them for sale at my local walmart for around 35 bucks and i need something for edc and a bit of light work at my job is that any good? they have the gerber fast draw, and paraframe they also have the kershaw crown

That was the first knife I ever bought. Carried nice in the pocket, and opened up quickly. It didn't hold an edge too well, but I couldn't put an edge on it at the time. Overall it's not bad for $35. Just get used to the lock and it could get definitely get the job done.

well i have a lansky stick sharpener witch i can make my knives like cut hair but not pop it off sharp, sharp enuf to slice paper

It's ok, like anything from gerber nowadays I'd take it with a grain of salt. I think even walmart has better options for $35

I did scrape with it and put it through alot so that had something to do with it. It should do just fine for what you need it for I think.

Agreed they do. Kershaw's Select fire is one sweet knife. Extremely smooth opener. Or a Skyline if you can find it at Wal Mart still.

nah my walmart doesnt have much, i ended up buying the gerber today cause i needed something, my state is pretty strict anyway so they dont sell too much, it seems like a decent knife, locks up tight and is decently sharp out the box, good enough for a bit of work
