I purchased one recently with the sales going on several places. Mine came perfect. Great centering, no blade play and fires hard for non assisted. Feels assisted with how hard it fires. Action is just great. Highly recommend the fastball.

Just picked on up last week when the sales started and mine also has left me very pleased. It has excellent action and really fires out of there. Detent is slightly stiff, but not bad. Centering is great. The fit and finish overall is great. It could be a little bit better on the liners. The grind could also be a little bit more consistent, especially towards the tip, but the knife came sharp so I have no complaints. I can't speak about the heat treat just yet, but I should have a better idea about that soon.
Overall, I am very impressed with the knife and for the price it is currently going for ($75-$80 at multiple BF supporting dealers depending on the finish you go with), I think it is a really great value and I'm really happy to see something like this coming out of Gerber. I really hope this leads to them making competitive, quality knives again (they're really close with this offering!)... I used to be quite fond of Gerber.
