I'm very interested in this AO knife and am somewhat surprised that I can't find any reviews or 'views' of this knife on this forum. Do you have any experience with the quality, etc... of this knife?

Thx!

I don't, no.

Gerber isn't very popular around here, due to A) their rapidly-declining quality standards (ever-cheaper materials, remarketing Chinese crap), and B) their morally-questionable business practices (ripping off other designers' work, remarketing Chinese crap).

I looked at one in Walmart. Gerber should call it the "Slow Draw". Not impressed with the assisted opening speed. I did like the Ti-blade finish though.

Got one and found it to perform well. Nothing spectacular, but a solid performer.

I got one and found it made some strange noises, grinding and such. I took it back and traded for Kershaw Avalanche. Twice as much money but twice as much knife.

Thanks for the feedback. I finally got a chance to hold one of these and I wasn't that impressed with the quality or the speed of opening. Opening it was fairly easy but not fast or necessarily that solid. Opening a Buck Rush was totally a different experience, as that blade opened very fast and locked up with a loud and solid (reassuring!) click! I also didn't care for the locking mechanism on the gerber.

I just was hoping for a more solidly built knife and I think I'll look at the Leek, Twitch II, Rush, or Tempest (if I can deal with a larger knife).

Thx again!
