Can anyone tell me of some more knives that are short with Fat blades? I've started collecting and I'm looking for some more like the Gerber Fatty and Boker subcom

Welcome to Bladeforums. :)

This belongs in the Blade Discussion Forum, but a moderator will probably move it there in the morning.

SOG has a similar knife with an arc lock and a strange translucent green handle, the Sculptura.

Also, the Al Mar SLB is a classic 'short little blade'.

And how about the Al Mar Havana Clipper?

Thanks, I saw this nice Smith and wesson executive knife thats short and pretty stubby, its only 13 dollars. You think that's any good?

Smith & Wesson are unreliable. They actually make a few good knives but unless you know for a fact a particular model is one of them, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

You won't find many people here who have bothered to familiarize themselves with the S&W line.

The Boker Plus Subcom folder, with an AUS-8 blade instead of the original 420J crap, is a very nice user. I got one a week or so ago and have found it very useful. I carry it clipped to my shirt pocket, I just forget it's there until I need it. It's a great sheeple friendly blade, specially if you carry a bigger folder.

The Subcom is one great little knife (AUS8). Will fit most hands, but super thin and short. They are also great for modifying, I put G10 on mine.

Smith&Wesson knives are not very popular at BladeForums. Most S&W knives are quite inexpensive and you can't expect the quality of a Spyderco or Benchmade. ;)

But as you are collecting this type of knives and $US 13 isn't too much money, I would consider the S&W Executive Knife worth buying. You can make your own experiences with the quality of S&W knives and you can compare the S&W knife with your other, more expensive knives.

Who knows. You might be happy with your S&W knife, as many other people, too :)

Thanks I'll try it out. Now i've also seen a cool looking ruko model. But i have never heard of ruko before, and they had some knockoff version of the buck 110 hunter. Anyone ever done well with that brand?

I have the Gerber Fatty it's not a terrible knife, but it's not great either. The pocket clip was only screwed into the scale about 1/16 of an inch deep, so it's long gone. I have no idea what type of steel is used, but it's kind of got a frosted finnish.(someone on the forum can tell you if you realy want to know)Which I just noticed is lightly sprinkled with rust. It does lock up tight. bottom line, It's a cheap knife. save your money and get a BENCHMADE. Z

There's already some kind of fan community for the Boker SubCom knives
Including me :)

It's only going to get crazier, with the new models coming out, especially the new blade shapes.
