They weren't kidding. One of my tools broke on my Gerber Diesel. I emailed Gerber 4 times now with no response, so "fend for yourself" is an appropriate slogan for Gerber. I'll never own anything gerber again. I've also owned a pair of Gerber game shears, the plastic handle on the shears broke the first time I tried to use them on a pheasent. I believe I'm done with Gerber.

Not getting anything from email is pretty sad. I don't currently own any Gerber products but I will note your experience.

They give them out where I work. Probably cheaper overall, but the quality is lacking. I always break mine in a few months whereas I have used my Leatherman Surge beyond what I will use any Gerber for. Besides, Gerbers make their multi-tool blades too small, and the pliers don't feel solid to me.

Frankly, try sending it back. Did it not come with all the warrenty information?

Try this - I imagine you can get it and your shears fixed.

i called gerber and told them my multiplier needs a new screwdriver and was also the set that pinched when you slipped while using the pliers. i was told that gerber would trade these in for new ones that didnt pinch. i have to wait till monday to find out anything. they said i could send them in for repair though. give this number a try along with this extension. (800) 950-6161 ex. 1110 i cant remember her name but she at least returned my call fairly fast.
