I am in possession of a Gerber knife that I cannot identify. It is a 4" fixed blade knife. The Gerber logo is located on the left rear of the blade next to the scales(holding it with the point of the blade facing to the left). It has rubber scales(not a complete over molded grip) that are attached to the full length tang by 4 Allen head screws( 2 per side). It also has a lanyard hole. The overall length is 8"...The blade is of bowie design I believe, being neither drop point nor clip point. The rear most (where the scales stop) top edge of the blade have thumb notches. There was no sheath with this knife.

Is there anyway that you can hazard a guess as to what I have?

Yeah, I have one exactly like it I got it from Wal-Mart. go here http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2599614

they say its called a profile.

I dont like the grip to much its too slippery, when your palms get sweaty.

Hope I helped. Also, The sheeth is just nylon not to fancy and actually kind of loose but the knife is held in place with a snap it also has a belt loop.

The price is pretty low. I wonder what steel they use. 420HC or 420-something?
The blade really does not look coated, although they claim it to be... Is TiNi coating an expensive procedure? And doesn't it stand for titanium nitride, not "titanium nickel"?

I do sort of like the blade silhouette though. Too bad Gerber lost me as a potential buyer after the disaster/insult they call Chameleon. I might have bought their reportedly decent lx-3.0 flashlight.
